Global Commission report launch at the United Nations

Report launch at the United Nations

The Global Commission for Modern Slavery has launched its landmark report at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, marking a major milestone in the global effort to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking. The launch event brought together world leaders, UN agencies, civil society, and private sector representatives to discuss the urgent need for coordinated international action. Watch the event on UN Web TV.

The high-level discussions focused on prevention, vulnerability, and root causes of exploitation, as well as the critical role of data, technology, and business in building resilient and transparent supply chains.

Our Chair, Baroness May of Maidenhead met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and President of the UN General Assembly Philemon Yang to underline the Commission's call for unified global leadership in ending modern slavery.

"My message to you today is that we must act, and we must act now,"" said Baroness May. "If we fail to do so, millions more people will be trapped in exploitation, millions more lives will be at risk".
